ABUST® 1507S298
IMPACT
MODIFIERS FOR ENGINEERING RESINS
ABUST® 1507S298 additive is an ABS impact modifier designed
to provide superior low
temperature toughness to thermoplastic polyester and polyester
blends. The ABUST®
1507S298 impact modifiers are based on the well known core
shell technology in which a
rubber core is encapsulated by a hard polymer shell. A key
toughening parameter is the
particle size of the rubber which is determined during the
manufacturing process of the
modifier. The rubber particle size of ABUST® 1507S298
has been optimized for use in
thermoplastic polyester and blends.
ABUST® 1507S298 offers the following
benefits:
- Excellent low temperature toughness
- Ease of processing
- Good balance of physical properties
- Good thermal stability
- Retention of matrix polymer's rheological properties

Figures 3 demonstrates the improvement in heat aging performance
due to ABUST®1507S298in both polybutylene terephthalate
and polycarbonate, compared to the same resins modified with
a typical MBS modifier. The ABUST® 1507S298 modifier enables
both resins to maintain their superior impact performance
during prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.
