PolySept® Portfolio

Antimicrobials Masterbatches and Additives for Plastics and Coatings.

In order to provide a wide range of antimicrobial solutions, PolyChem Alloy®, Inc. has established a portfolio of antimicrobial masterbatches and additives to suit a vast array of application needs. Trade named PolySept®, the made-to-order masterbatches typically contain 10% - 50% of an antimicrobial agent formulated into a plastic resin such as PE, PP, PS, ABS, PA, PBT, and PC.  Other applications for PolySept® antimicrobial products include medical devices, consumer goods, kitchen and bath appliances, paints and coatings, furniture, bedding, textiles, carpeting, films, and filtration.

The material attributes of the PolySept® product line meets a wide range of processing requirements and is effective against gram positive (+ve), gram negative (-ve) bacteria and fungi. The selection of PolySept® L, Z or Ag depends on a specific end-use application.

They're Tough In the Cold (from Plastics Technology, May 2003)

New pelletized impact modifiers are designed to toughen PBT, PC, PC/PBT alloys, and nylon at ultra-low temperatures down to -131o F. Abust® and Mebust® tri-block copolymers from PolyChem Alloy®, Inc., Lenoir, N.C., are high-butadiene ABS and MBS types, respectively.

These non-melting additives can be mixed with engineering resins at temperatures above 480o F and are stable even above 580o F. These free-flowing, pelletized modifiers are said to improve handling and minimize flammability concerns associated with powdered modifiers. Tel:(828) 754-7570, www.polychemalloy.com.

PolyChem Alloy® Introduces 100% Closed Cell Resilient Foamed    Polyethylene Insulation.

A quarter of a century’s dedicated commitment to producing a 100% closed fine-cellular foam finished part has lead PolyChem Alloy®  to the production of a closed cell resilient foamed polyethylene insulation. This foamed elastomeric insulation possesses good cutting characteristics and low water and vapor permeability. The serviceability upper temperature limit for this foamed insulation is 210oF. Another major advantage of our proprietary insulation technology is the production of a very low dielectric loss (approximately 20 to 30 micro radians @ 2 GHz) CATV and RF coaxial cable with improved physical properties (bending radius of < 2”  for a 1” diameter dielectric).
