Product ->PolyOxyter

PolyOxyter® 2501 & 5001

Product Description:
These specialty alloys are developed for various performance enhancements for polyester application. They can be incorporated in polyester compounds to stabilize the melt viscosity. Coextrusion of these alloys with polyester or incorporating them in multi-layer structure offers enhanced moisture, oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier, improvement in printability and interlayer adhesion, adhesion to metallic surfaces. They can be used as sole compounds if higher performance requirement is desired.

Performance Advantages:
Hydrolytic breakdown stabilization (stabilize the melt viscosity). Crystallinity control in fabrication process. Provide primed surface for adhesion and better printability. Coextrudable with PET for enhanced barrier properties. Good clarity for transparent finish requirement.

Performance Advantages: Hydrolytic breakdown stabilization (stabilize the melt viscosity). Crystallinity control in fabrication process. Provide primed surface for adhesion and better printability. Co-extrudable with PET for enhanced barrier properties. Good clarity for transparent finish requirement. POLYOXYTER® resins are readily soluble in ester and ketone-like solvents. Aromatic hydrocarbon solvents can be used as diluents together with the primary solvents.

Applications Guidelines:
  • POLYOXYTER resin is effective for polyester film crystallinity control during the biaxial film stretching process. The typical loading of POLYOXYTER® resin is from 5 to 10% depending on the process conditions.
  • Coextrusion or multi-layers extrusion of POLYOXYTER® resin with polyesters is possible and significantly improves the gas barrier properties, adhesion, heat sealing and printability. A thickness of 2 microns is feasible for POLYOXYTER® resin on coextruded film. Melt temperature of 220 - 2400C gives very good melt characteristics. POLYOXYTER® resin should be dried at 60'C for at least four (4) hours before extrusion.
  • Hydrolytic breakdown of Polyesters can be stabilized by adding 3 - 5% of POLYOXYTER® resin in polyester compounds to prevent viscosity surging.
  • POLYOXYTER® resin can be used for glass reinforced polyester compounds to enhance the coupling performance and reduce the moisture absorption. The typical loading is from 5 to 10%.
  • POLYOXYTER® resin can improve the color dispersion in pigmented polyester compounds at any given levels thus reduce the usage of the high cost pigment.
