| The active ingredient is ethoxylated tertiary amine. PolyStat 3KI meets FDA, Title 21, §178.3130(b) requirements for polyolefins at use levels of 0.2% by weight (0.1% of active antistatic agent) of polyolefin food contact films. Additionally, PolyStat 3KI is permitted under 21 CFR, §178.3130(b) "For use only as an antistatic agent at levels not to exceed 0.30% by weight in molded or extruded PE containers that contact food only of the types identified in 21 CFR, §176.170(c), Table 1, under Types 1, IV-B, VI-B, VII-B, VIII, under the conditions of use E through G described in table 2 of 21 CFR, §176.170(c), provided such foods have a pH above 5.0." |
Applications: |
| PolyStat 3KI is an effective antistat for low-density polyethylene film and sheet. It reduces the surface resistivity and static decay in extruded films and molded parts from PE. |
Use Level Recommendations:

| Typical use levels to range from 0.20 to 0.50% by weight of film and sheet grade PE resin. For injection or blow- molded articles, the recommended level is 0.3%. Due to the hygroscopic nature of antistatic agents, all Polystat grades should be stored in a dry area. Open bags need to be closed and polyolefin/antistat blends should be protected from moisture and processed as soon as possible. |
