Abust® and Mebust®
Ultra-low temperature impact modifiers for the engineering resins. For use in automotive, aerospace, marine, military, and power cable industries.
A decade of expertise in new polymer innovations has yielded uncompromising pelletized ultra low temperature (< -55oC) impact modifiers for PBT, PC, and NYLON(s) by PolyChem Alloy®, Inc. (PCA). This innovation has been possible because of PolyChem’s captive expertise in process development coupled with the ability to customize extrusion machinery.
Trade named ABUST® and MEBUST®, these virgin impact modifiers with butadiene content in excess of 65% have no melting point and can easily be mixed with an array of high temperature (>250oC) engineering resins. Test data attached reflects optimum use levels for formulators and compounders of low-temperature impact modified compounds for injection molded parts.

Mebust® 1507S298 Modifier also shows good efficiency in
various polyester blends such as PC/PBT. The following table
demonstrates Mebust’s® excellent ductility at low
temperatures. Notched Izod impacts were determined in blends
containing 20% impact modifier.

Our pelletized impact modifiers have <0.05% moisture and
are free-flowing. This improves handling characteristics and
minimizes flammability concerns associated with the handling
of impact modified powders. ABUST® and MEBUST® have
been used by compounders in the Automotive, Furniture &
Appliance, Wire & Cable, and Construction Industries where
high impact strength at sub- zero temperature is a pre-requisite.
